ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Shann Ray grew up in Montana and lived on the Northern Cheyenne reservation, as well as in Alaska, Germany and Canada. His poems and stories have appeared in some of the country’s finest literary magazines and anthologies, including Narrative Magazine, McSweeney’s, StoryQuarterly, Best New Poets, and Poetry International.
He has served as a Fulbright Scholar in leadership and forgiveness studies in South Africa, and as a visiting scholar for the Ninoy and Cory Aquino Leadership Center in Manila, the Philippines. He was nominated by the Inland Northwest Center for Writers for the Best New American Voices anthology, and received a Pushcart nomination from McSweeney’s for his fiction. His poetry was selected as an open competition winner in the Best New Poets series.
Shann Ray teaches at Gonzaga University and lives in Spokane, Washington, with his wife and three daughters.
